Abstract:
With increased computer power our numerical simulation tools have become more complex and enter new scientific fields. Large models produce a vast amount of data, and frequently just a fragment of the data is explored, analysed and presented. Often different models are used in concert, introducing layers of different types of data.

It is a challenge to present results in a consistent and understandable manner. The intended audience is of importance, presenting data to fellow scientists will have other requirements than a popular science presentation. Especially, it is a challenge to present uncertainties in a manner that doesn’t undermine our, after all, brilliant results from excellent models. These uncertainties are especially important if our models are being used as support to decision making. How can recent advances in visualisation techniques assist?
