Helwig Hauser and PhD student Hanna Balaka travelled to historic Nottingham, UK, for the EuroVis Conference, held from June 8-12, 2026.

Helwig received the EuroVis Full Paper Best Reviewer Award!

Hanna presented a novel visualization method for exploring and analyzing multidimensional categorical survey data: HamCat: Ego-Centric Relationship Exploration for Multidimensional Categorical Data [1]

Beyond the conference sessions, we also took some time to explore Nottingham and the city’s rich history: its legendary connection to Robin Hood, its history of lace-making, and much more.

It was an inspiring and insightful conference, and we returned home with new perspectives and plenty to reflect on!
